On Tue August 12 2025, the Director of Medical Services (DMS), Surgeon Commodore MJ Salihu paid a courtesy visit to Headquarters Naval Doctrine Command (HQ NAVDOC) Bonny Cantonment, VI, Lagos. This visit was part of his familiarization tour of medical facilities within Lagos Area of Responsibility.

The DMS was welcomed by the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Doctrine Command, Rear Admiral SU Gombe, ably represented by the Chief Staff Officer Naval Doctrine Command Rear Admiral IC Okpala. Discussions were centered on the up to date state of Nigerian Navy medical facilities, ongoing health projects as well as strategies for improving medical care for personnel and their families.
